The Orlons with Ken Schaffer, formerly of WVLT backstage at the Kimmel Center June 18, 2003
On June 18, 2003, Cruisin' 92.1's Jerry Blavat held a huge rock and roll at the Kimmel Center in Center City Philadelphia. The Orlons were just one of twenty acts on the big, sold-out show. After the event, Ken Schaffer met with the Orlons backstage.
"The Orlons" personnel in this photo includes Steve Caldwell, who is the only remaining original member of the group. (One moved to Great Britain and the other two have passed away). A forerunner of the group was "Little Audrey & the Teenettes." Jean Brickley was an original member of that group but didn't stay when they re-organized into "The Orlons." She is now part of the current configuration. The two other ladies that complete "The Orlons" are Steve's cousins, Alberta Crump and Madeline Morris. All four members of the contemporary "Orlons" are pictured in this photograph.
Ken Schaffer was heard every Sunday evening on Cruisin' 92.1, WVLT for a couple of years.
